In the distant past, on one of the picturesque hills of the Monferrato, the hamlet of Montessino belonged to a large Italian wine-growing family. In 2016, we were able to acquire one of the historic houses (built 1850) and restored it with great passion and soul.
We turned this beautiful and quiet spot on a hilltop into our new home and are happy to share out little paradise with guests from all over the world.
We pay particular attention to sustainability and ecology, thus our whole power consumption derives from solar energy. In order to avoid unnecessary waste, we do not use mono portions, be it for breakfast or in the rooms. Furthermore, our saltwater pool requires only minimal amounts of chlorine.
This is indeed the place to lean back and enjoy the pleasures of living in harmony with nature, following the motto Carpe Diem “seize the day”.
Children over 12 only
After one year of renovation, we have created six cozy double rooms and a two-room apartment, while the cottage “La Casetta” with its own little garden, is situated straight across from the main house and offers enough space for families or small groups.
Some rooms have a balcony with a wonderful panoramic view of the Unesco World heritage landscape. It was important to us to retain the historic structure of the building so that our guests can see and feel the history yet still enjoy modern amenities like in-room tea making facilities, air-conditioning, flat TV and free Wifi. All our rooms have their own en-suite bathroom and are enriched with works of contemporary art by Alessandro Cardamone.
Our rich breakfast buffet includes homemade (whenever possible) breads, organic jams, fresh farm eggs and fruit from our own garden together with local specialties.
Relax at the outdoor pool or in the Jacuzzi and enjoy the wonderful view. The former riding stable house our little spa with a massage room, sauna, gym as well as yoga room.
The Zen-island in the center of the hillside with its sweeping view invites for meditation or simple relaxation while enjoying the Italian sun. Should you feel hungry throughout the day we offer delicious, cold cuts or fresh salad bowels, while sipping a glass of local Barbera wine. For dinner, the many family-driven restaurants in the area will spoil you with genuine Italian and especially Monferrat cuisine. We will be happy to book a table for you.
